Hope Is In The Cards Campaign

Russ Haan is a small business owner who, like many others, is going through tough times. He says he has depleted his savings, retirement plan and credit lines just to keep his employees. He's cut his own pay and is trying to help out family members.

But instead of giving into despair, he is reaching out to help others with his campaign, Hope Is In The Cards. The premise is pretty simple. When you mail a card, write the word Hope on the back of the envelope. The goal is lofty: 300 million messages of Hope circulating the country (and perhaps the globe).

Far fetched? Pollyanna-ish? My guess is that like the Pay It Forward message, it's going to catch on like wildfire. And if it makes just one person feel a little better today, that's one step in the right direction.
